2021 brings hope of a fresh start and a better year ahead. New year’s eve will be different this year with most of us homebound for the holiday. The current state of the pandemic does not have to change how you celebrate NYE this year. Your NYE can still be romantic, filled with traditions, and memorable.
I’ve rounded up five creative and special ways to help you countdown to 2021.
1. Wear a Sparkly Outfit
You don’t have to wear your PJs because you’re staying at home this year. Buy a new sparkly outfit or throw on your favorite holiday dress. Put on some fun New Year’s eve makeup, including your favorite bright lipstick. Celebrating as a couple? Wear matching sparkly outfits to make the celebration a bit more festive.
2. Decorate and Take Insta-Worthy Pictures
A New Year’s eve celebration wouldn’t be complete without glittery decorations. Don’t forget the over-the-top 2021 balloons. Pro tip: order a NYE decor pack from Amazon in your favorite glittery color. Include some sparkly champagne flutes to make a toast to the new year in style. Make a DIY photo booth or photo backdrop to take insta-worthy pictures.
3. Watch the Ball Drop
Watch the iconic New York Times Ball Drop celebration virtually. Good news is that the ball drop will still feature performers and speakers like in the past years. You can livestream this iconic celebration on NewYorkTimesSquare.org or Facebook Live. Dance along to your favorite performances in the comfort of your warm and cozy home.
4. Pop A Bottle Of Champagne at Midnight
You survived 2020! Pop a bottle of your favorite champagne. Raise a glass to the incredible experiences that await you in the New Year! Kiss your S.O (significant other) the minute the clock strikes midnight. Call your family or loved ones to wish them a Happy New Year and let them know you’re thinking of them. Keep up with your favorite New Year’s eve traditions even if you’re celebrating at home this year.
5. Make a New Year’s Day Brunch
Who doesn’t love crepes, omelettes, and waffles? Celebrate the first day of the fabulous new year by making a delicious brunch of your choice. Top off your brunch with a mimosa or two. Bellinis are welcome too. The new year is here and it’s full of hope and new beginnings.
