My Favorite Diptyque Candles

What makes Diptyque candles worth the price? In my guide, I share everything you need to know about the cult-favorite Diptyque candles.

Diptyque candles are the most popular high-end Parisian candles on the market. Their impeccable quality and beautiful designs make them stand out from the crowd.

Since their candles only include natural scents, they don’t contain chemicals or synthetic products. If you worry about toxins in your home, Diptyque candles are the best option for you.

The History of Diptyque Candles

The company started in 1961 and on Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The company’s founders were three artists: Christiane Gautrot, Yves Coueslant, and Desmond Knox-Leet. They were responsible for developing the early versions of the popular candles and personal fragrances. However, the company changed ownership in 2005 after being bought by London private equity fund, Manzanita in 2005.

What Makes Diptyque Candles Special?

The work of creating a Diptyque candle is done manually. This process involves carefully selecting the appropriate wax and wick mix to ensure that the product burns evenly. Also, the wick is straightened by hand to make sure it burns evenly. The work that goes into each candle is a good deal for Diptyque customers. This is why a cup-sized candle with French scents such as Figuier and Feu de Bois costs $65.

The quality of the Diptyque candle is impeccable. It burns for around 50 to 60 hours, and the scent of each candle remains until the last drop. In addition, each candle includes pure paraffin wax and lead-free wicks.

How to Take Care of your Diptyque Candle

  1. Trim the wick to 1/4 length. Also, make sure the glass is clean before lighting.
  2. Do a memory burn on any candle to ensure an even burn. A memory burn is a technique that involves training the candle to burn down evenly. The first time you burn a candle, make sure to burn it for at least 2 hours. The first time the candle is lit, melt the wax pool or the edges of the candle.
  3. After a good burn, make sure the wick is positioned upright & center before the wax cools down.
  4. Protect your candles from direct sunlight by keeping them in a cool space. They can last for years.
