One of my favorite purchases this fall has been the coveted Chanel Ballet Flats from the Fall-Winter 2024/25 collection. The Chanel ballet flats, in general, have been on my wish list for a while, but when I saw these chic flats in light brown and brown velvet, I knew it was the perfect time to splurge. I’ve always admired the classic elegance of Chanel, and this velvet version felt like the ultimate fall luxury. So, I reached out to my trusted Sales Associate at Neiman Marcus and finally added them to my collection.
Here’s my honest review of these iconic flats—from quality to comfort and sizing—so you can decide if they’re worth the investment.
My Honest Review of the Chanel Ballet Flats
Quality
One of the standout features of these Chanel Ballet Flats is the luxurious velvet material. Chanel is known for its impeccable craftsmanship, and these flats are no exception. The velvet feels rich and soft to the touch, giving them a sophisticated yet casual vibe. The light brown and brown tones are incredibly versatile, making these flats the perfect addition to my fall wardrobe. Whether I’m dressing them up for brunch or down for an afternoon stroll, they add a touch of timeless elegance to any outfit.
The overall construction is impeccable, with delicate stitching and the iconic Chanel logo on the toe, which instantly elevates the design. However, since velvet is a more delicate material, I’d recommend being mindful of the weather, as it may show wear over time if exposed to harsher elements.

Price
At $975, these ballet flats are undeniably an investment. Chanel is known for its high price points, but you’re paying for the name, the quality, and the impeccable design. Personally, I feel that they’re worth the price if you’re a fan of Chanel and appreciate the craftsmanship that comes with it. However, if you’re looking for a pair of everyday flats that can withstand lots of wear, a more budget-friendly option may be better suited for daily use.

Heel Height
For those who prefer flats with a slight lift, the Chanel Ballet Flats feature a modest 0.4-inch heel. While it’s not much, it adds just enough height to give some structure without compromising comfort. As someone who is petite, I usually prefer more of a heel, but these still work well for days when I want a relaxed, casual look with a touch of polish.
Comfort
These flats are incredibly comfortable, which is always a pleasant surprise for luxury shoes. Chanel tends to get the balance of style and comfort right, and these flats are no exception. The cushioned sole makes walking in them a breeze, even after a few hours. That said, as a petite woman, I do miss the extra height that a heel provides, but for casual days when I’m running errands or heading to lunch, these flats are perfect.
Sizing
One important thing to note is the sizing. Chanel shoes often run small, and these ballet flats are no different. I’m typically a 5.5 to 6, but I had to size up to a 6.5 as they’re quite narrow. If you have wider feet or are between sizes, I would recommend going up a half to a full size. I’ve found this to be the case with most Chanel shoes, so it’s always better to size up for comfort.
Where to Buy
If you’re considering adding these timeless flats to your wardrobe, they are available at high-end retailers like Neiman Marcus, where I purchased mine through my Sales Associate. However, if you’re buying directly from Chanel, you can only purchase them in-store at Chanel boutiques. Chanel doesn’t offer shoes for online purchase, so you’ll need to visit a boutique to shop their exclusive collections. Keep in mind that these seasonal styles tend to sell out quickly, so be sure to check availability in advance.

Overall, I’m very happy with my Chanel Ballet Flats. They’re a luxurious and timeless addition to my wardrobe, perfect for fall and versatile enough to pair with a range of outfits. While the price is steep and they require a bit more care due to the velvet material, I believe they’re worth the investment if you’re a Chanel lover like me. Just make sure to size up, and you’ll have a beautiful pair of flats that will last for years to come.
